Once you have built a site and it’s live, it’s really important to
get one way links back to it. Remember, Google also wants to see
what it deems to be natural links coming in to your site, which
is where link directories play a part.
Not only will these inbound links help ( they certainly can’t hurt
) to get your site indexed, but they will also provide you with
some easy to get link diversity. It also helps offset things as
you’ll have a bunch of low value one way links coming in to your
site.
WOAH… low value is no good, you might think, but hold your horses.
Google likes to see all types of links coming in and it hates too
much of anything that us humans could best describe as patterns.
Too much of anything is rarely a good thing.
Thanks to directory submissions it’s easy to get URL type links
which provides the diversity Google is looking for.
For that reason alone I recommend making submitting to directories
part of your site promotion process, even if it’s very boring
( and there’s no denying it truly is unless you enjoy mundane
tasks).
Once you have this part completed you can concentrate on getting all
those juicy quality one way links back to your site so you can get
rankings for your target site keywords.
Now there are three ways you can submit to these directories.
* The MANUAL way without software ( slow and laborious. Not
recommended unless you have no money and PLENTY of time )
* The SEMI AUTOMATIC way WITH software ( a lot quicker and the
beauty of this is you only pay for the software ONCE, then you
can use it to promote as many sites as you want )
* The OUTSOURCED way ( you pay a submission service to do all the
work for you by hand in return for a small fee ).
The happy ground is obviously the SEMI AUTOMATIC way using software
to help speed things up. It’s still going to take some time investment
but it’s a good way when you’re starting out or if you like to
oversee all aspects of your site promotion.

USING SOFTWARE FOR DIRECTORY SUBMISSIONS
*************************************
There is a piece of link directory submitter software I recommend
which is easy to use and it allows you to pre populate all the
fields, auto rotate anchor text/descriptions and so on. I really
recommend using this software if you can’t afford to outsource but
want to make things easier on yourself with a one-time small
investment.
You can use this software to submit to upto 2,700 directories.

OUTSOURCING DIRECTORY SUBMISSIONS
************************************
Now if you have a budget you can allocate to each site/project you
can outsource your link directory submissions using a paid service.
Unfortunately there are some really poor submission services out
there so I don’t recommend trying to find them unless you have a
recommendation from someone you trust.
There is ONE QUALITY submission service I recommend that only
charges $15 for 100 High PR directory submissions which is something
of a bargain when you consider how much time that would normally take.
They also allow you to choose up to 10 unique anchor titles & 10
unique descriptions and provide you with a full report once
submission is complete so you can see where your site has been
submitted to.
Check out this service here:
They also submit to a higher number of directories if that’s
what you need. $35 for 300 directory submissions is a great option
if it is within your financial budget.
