Why Taking The Right Action Consistently Will Make You a Winner

by Dean James

You need to work hard“, people often insist, but they don’t QUALIFY that assertion. Moreover, once you have things set up you may be able to run your business by working anything from several hours to several days a month.

You may even work full time because you enjoy it and that is your chosen craft.

OR… you could be working 16 hours every day, heading towards a nervous breakdown, it just depends how you have things set up.

There is no “One size fits all” answer when it comes to how much work you have to do in order to be successful.

But let me tell you this, categorically and for a fact:

JUST working hard will not necessarily make you successful.

It could even guarantee a life of poverty. Yes, you read that right.

success1My grandfather worked hard for 50 years and he had very little to show for it when all was said and done. He had great memories, met thousands of interesting people, but he had very little money.

In fact he was better off when he retired than when he was working.

Very often people are just working hard to build somebody elses dream. That’s what my grandfather did as he didn’t know any different.

Equally, doing nothing will not get you there either!

So what’s the answer?

The key to success is taking ACTION. Not any old action though. Sometimes taking action of the wrong kind can be even WORSE than taking any action at all.

If you don’t know what action you need to take, then you need to get coaching from a mentor that is ALREADY successful in your chosen field. For the sake of this post, I am talking about internet marketing…

OR you need to follow a system that is working and has worked for others. It needs to be ethical and evergreen.

Not sure what to do? DON’T GUESS (if you do this you most likely waste months or even years trying to figure it all out by yourself).

And you can’t get time back. It’s the one thing we will always have a limited amount of at our disposal.

To start taking the right action you need to get good at prioritising the most important tasks and KNOW where it is you ultimately need to get to (your goal).

You need to ask yourself the following question:

What’s the one thing, if I do it today and get it done, will make the most difference to my online business and ultimately my life?

Identify that ONE THING and get it done before you even think about doing anything else. You can break down anything you want to achieve into manageable chunks and just like a sculptor, you can commence work and you don’t get distracted or stop until you have finished.

People give up too quickly. They start something, stick with it for a couple of weeks, then decide prematurely that it isn’t working for them, so they go on to the next ‘big thing’, thinking they are missing a piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

Procrastinating because you think everything has got to be perfect will kill off any momentum you have any chance of building.

Summary

1) Know YOUR goal.
2) Do the ONE thing that is going to make the most difference to your online business that day.
3) Prioritise on a daily basis (write down what needs to be done and cross it off).
4) Take consistent ACTION towards achieving your goal by doing the things that have the greatest impact.
5) Do not do things that are easier in order to avoid the thing that will actually make the most difference.
6) Procrastination is the thief of time.
“Coulda, woulda, shoulda are the last words of a fool”.
7) Rinse. Repeat.

Commit to the above for a year and see how things change for you. Only a few percent of people have what it takes to commit and do these things consistently. That’s why not everybody will be successful, but you breathe the same air as the billionaires my friend.

Nobody is going to do it for you but YOU CAN do it.
