A Snowy Xmas Eve… and Adsense Earnings 2010

by Dean James on December 24, 2009

Happy Holidays to all of you. Here in the UK it’s been snowing heavily just recently. Where I live hasn’t been hardest hit but it’s been snowing pretty consistently. Here’s what it looks like on Xmas Eve.

snowxmas

Here’s where you can do me a favour and also yourself at the same time. Allow me to explain. In the comments below I want you to ask me your most burning Adsense questions. It doesn’t matter how big or small, just ask the question that you most want an answer to. In return I am going to answer some of these questions here on this blog. Some of the others will be answered in our coaching course either as an FAQ or part of the product itself.

Either way you benefit as I’ll be sharing some of the answers with you to help you make even more money online from Adsense in 2010. Can’t say fairer than that.

Thanks for your time I appreciate all of you and wish you the best for 2010.

hey dean

i see you have had plenty of snow up there too :)

as u prob know i went through your ebook a while back and took some very useful methods from it that have helped my adsense earnings

My first adsense site that i built a while back ive converted to wordpress as i find wordpress easier to add content and tweak etc. I only built my 2nd adsense site about 6 weeks ago and this month im at $75.00 already as of today with still 6 days left so its building up nicely :)

Anyway something i would like to get your feedback on is, all of my sites only really get clicks from the main index page and the inner pages rarely get ranked. (this is something a lot of other people have agreed with also)

So do u think we should just make a 1 page site for adsense with the first and only post being a good 700+ article?

And then the time, articles and money that we would usually spend doing the content for our site, use instead for promotion and building more traffic

Thanks dean

hope your well

paul :)

HI DEAN.

HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR TEACHING. NOW I’M BROKEN. I’M UNABLE TO SPEND A SINGLE DIME . TEACH ME TO MAKE MONEY.

Lenny December 24, 2009 at 3:59 pm

I have had this website up and running for about 6 to 9 months. I have yet made any money on it. WHY?

Chris December 24, 2009 at 5:54 pm

Hi Dean, Yes, that seems a good idea, to take you up on you offer to assist me with Adsense questions. I know this will sound pathetic but, I have not yet dared try to apply for an adsense account as I have heard like Amazon they tricky to obtain. as I understand it one has to qualify. if this is indeed how it is, is there a more simple approach. Your input will be much appreciated.
best wishes and Merry Christmas. Chris

I am running this website say more than 1 years. But i donot know, i will optimize this with google adsense. Give some thought on this issue. Thanks

PKP December 25, 2009 at 8:32 am

My wishful thinking goes like this for a total beginner for Adsense-(1)how to build a 1page adsense oriented site(2)how to add subsequent pages & link them together(3)find a good topic to start a site with no dearth of content(4)maturing/nurturing a site to make it adsense ready n qualify to get an Adsense account when applied for it(5)ad selection n placement(6)running and maintaining the site and keep it fresh with readable content thereafter. Think, if I cover these aspects, I should expect a healthy revenue from it for long time to come ! Do you agree ? If yes, pl do cover all these in your teachings. Thanks

Everyone – Thanks for your comments, I’m giving it another couple of days for anyone else to ask their Adsense question as it’s busy over the holiday period then I’ll start addressing whatever we have at that point. So if you want to ask a question, there’s still time :)

Shaikh December 27, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Hi Dean
As a Beginner I want to learn to build adsense site
page by page and then where and how to upload
on the hosting account. Question is will I need a
Domain name for adsense?
Thanking you.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 6:32 am

Okay folks I am going to start addressing your questions thus far.

@Shaikh – You upload to your hosting account using FTP software such as SmartFTP or Filezilla. You will also need to setup an addon domain on your hosting account and ensure the nameservers are pointing at your host server for your domain. I realise a lot of this may sound technical to you so be sure to read through Content Cash Secrets Ebook ( http://www.contentcashsecrets.com if you haven’t got it already ) and let me know if you still have any questions on this.

With regard to domain name, you will need one if you want control over it. A domain name is simply the name of your site with an extension, so for example dean-james.com is my domain name for this blog. People can then find my site by typing in http://www.dean-james.com into their browser. A domain name costs less than $10. For Adsense you want it to be relevant to your niche/topic so the content is themed around it and it’s tightly focused. If you want to go down the FREE route you can set up a free blog with Blogger which is fine but you won’t have ultimate control over it so be aware of this fact. For the sake of less than 10 bucks you may as well start out with your own domain from the outset.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 6:39 am

@Abayomi – 1. Your site homepage is optimized for harmony-money.com but people won’t be typing that phrase into the search engines in any volume.

2. You have content but there are multiple posts per page. For adsense I recommend 1 post per page optimized around a keyword phrase.

3. Your ads scream out “I am an ad”. Get rid of the green URL’s.

4. Your ad placement is not optimal. Read CCS Ebook for my recommendations on ad placement.

5. Your site is not themed around dating sufficiently for Adsense to pick up and display ads. At the moment it’s regarding your site as an MMO ( make money online ) site and displaying ads accordingly. If someone was reading your dating post they wouldn’t want to click on an ad about a business opportunity…

6. I recommend you keep MMO stuff on one site and dating on another. Having both on one site is just going to confuse your visitors and you will have a harder job driving targeted traffic.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 6:44 am

@Brett – The snowfall was pretty heavy for the UK. Up in Scotland it’s got as cold as minus 16. Michael Cheney tells me the snow is pretty crunchy up there too :-) There is more cold coming in from Syberia apparently so we are back in the minus temperatures soon.

Thanks for your kind words I am very excited about bringing people a quality Adsense Coaching Course that we are looking to launch in Jan 2010 all being well.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 6:50 am

@Kamal – If you optimize for Adsense put the ads above the fold and make sure that you don’t have multiple posts per page, you want the ads to contextualise so they are relevant to the content ( and thus the visitor/searcher ). Concentrate on driving targeted traffic to the site and monitor your stats.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 6:52 am

@PKP – Thanks for your comments. The course will be designed to take people right from the basics/beginnings to making money online and then scaling things up. Early next year ( Jan ) more will be revealed :-)

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 7:06 am

@Chris – The worst thing they can do is turn you down. If they do, just take note of what they say, make necessary changes and reapply. A lot of what you read in forums isn’t true, particularly about SEO and Adsense – it’s often hearsay or ‘chinese whisper’ type comments. Have you already got a site with some decent content on there that is indexed in Google? If it looks like a quality site you should apply.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 7:12 am

@Nasrullah – You don’t actually NEED money to make money, it just means you need to invest more time to achieve an online income.

Look at this way.

If you are TIME RICH and CASH POOR, you can afford to invest time to make money as you have more time than you do money.

If you are TIME POOR and CASH RICH you can afford to invest money as your time is valuable.

If you are TIME RICH and CASH RICH you are swinging from a hammock in Barbados… and sure we’d all love to do that, but one thing at a time right ;)

Of course, by paying for your education by purchasing the right products, you accelerate your education which cuts down the learning curve so you can make more money in a shorter timeframe and do things the right way. Now obviously I am going to have valuable information I give away for FREE ( i.e. Content Cash Secrets Ebook / Site Flipping Formula Report ) which will help you make money and paid products that help people such as the Adsense Coaching Course which will be going live next year ( and so on ).

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 7:19 am

@Lenny – You need to optimize your site so that it is relevant to the product you are trying to sell to your visitors. You then need to drive visitors to your site that are interested in the product you are offering. Pay attention to those 2 points because they are HUGE. After that it’s a case of paying attention to copy to increase conversions if it’s a commission only product ( pay per sale or a product you are selling yourself ). You may benefit from checking out my Affiliate Code Review on this blog.

Dean James December 28, 2009 at 7:27 am

@Paul – Great to hear your site earnings are going well for your second site. Great question Paul, I get the feeling it could end up being a lengthy reply once I start typing. I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to either address in it a future post or in the Adsense Course ( as you’ve asked the question I will give you the answer at such time if it’s not posted on this blog ).

Glad things are going well for you Paul. Here things are going great. Christmas is a nice time but I am equally happy to get on with doing the things I am passionate about :)

Dean James December 29, 2009 at 7:06 am

@Everyone – 24 hours left to ask your Adsense question if you want to. After that I’ll be posting more about Adsense in future posts and in the coaching course early next year.

Paul Nicholls January 17, 2011 at 6:50 pm

hey dean

its been a while ey :)

i was just going through your site and see you have changed your theme, it looks better now i think its more clean

i just read a post above someone saying about he was at $75 for the month so far and he was chuffed and i then thought about when i was in the same situation. But after looking again that was me that commented lol over a year ago ha ha

$75 a month jeez lol a lot has happened in the last year and ive been working hard and last month i made a blog post about hitting over $2000 in adsense. It just goes to show if you keep at it and knuckle down then the results will come

ive cracked the $100 a day milestone my next target is $150 a day :)

anyway how is your adsense doing now? must be doing nearly 5 figures now then? or u working on more of your own products and stuff?

anyway take it easy dean

paul

Dean James January 20, 2011 at 9:06 pm

@Paul – Thanks for your feedback my friend. I’m really pleased to hear about your meteoric rise in earnings from $75 to the $100 a day ( $2000+ per month ) milestone. That is awesome and what most people aspire to. I know that almost nobody reading this would turn down a millionaire income but it’s the $2000 a month mark that really makes a big difference to your lifestyle. Your story is an inspiration and highlights the fact that sweat equity pays off if you focus on one thing for long enough.

Paul I’m working on my own product at the moment and will be launching it later this year ( can’t say any more than that at the moment ). FOCUS is everything in internet marketing (and life). I tend to divide my day up by doing and then learning ( in that order ). When I travel I listen to mp3′s about internet marketing. I used to listen to music and still do, but long journeys are now overriden with that and it’s an absolute joy ( people that aren’t in IM find it boring but it’s because they don’t understand it :) ).

Paul Nicholls January 23, 2011 at 9:31 pm

@dean – yeah it was an awesome milestone to hit the $2k figure but by the end of this year i will be at or very close to 5 figures a month.

listening to IM stuff is awesome stuff but i know what you mean some people just dont understand!

how has your content cash secrets product done so far? you must have a good list built up by now!

your prob a good person to talk to about product creation actually because the way that you have made your product is how im going to be doing mine. Be interested to see hear how your getting on with adsense now aswell :) and what else your up to these days

anyway take it easy dean

paul
